FEDERICO FARFAN SR.

FOUNDER & PIONEER

The story began in 1951, when Federico Farfán Sr. entered the film industry at 21, working in set construction, production design, lighting, and logistics. In 1968, while working on Sam Peckinpah’s “The Wild Bunch”, he discovered his passion for special effects—an art he would master and dedicate his life to, building a legacy of over five decades.

His career included iconic productions such as:

-The Chosen Survivors (1974)
-Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974)
-Canoa: A Shameful Memory (1976)
-Daniel Boone (TV Series)
-The A Man Called Horse trilogy

SPECIAL EFFECTS COORDINATOR

Following his father’s legacy, Federico Farfán Jr. grew up on film sets, officially beginning his career in 1975 with “The Return of a Man Called Horse”. Working alongside his father, he contributed to major productions before expanding his international career in Brazil, where he became Special Effects Coordinator for Rede Globo, leading effects for over 40 productions across film, television, and live entertainment for more than two decades.

His career included iconic productions such as:

-The Honorary Consul
-Dune (Dir. David Lynch)
-Rambo II
-Total recall (1990)
-The War of Canudos

LUIS AMBRIZ

SPECIAL EFFECTS COORDINATOR

In 1984, Federico Farfán Sr. met 16-year-old Luis Ambriz and invited him to join the special effects team on Rambo II. It marked the beginning of a long professional partnership. Over time, Luis became a key figure in the company and later assumed leadership of the Mexico operation when Federico Farfán Jr. expanded into Brazil. Today, he continues to lead major productions and uphold the company’s standards.

His career included iconic productions such as:

-El Norte Sobre el Vacio
